The first weeks after childbirth are vital for a mother and her baby.
This important period is necessary for bonding, rest and strengthening.
After all: a new mother needs just as much care as her newborn baby.
Therefore, in many traditional cultures, a new mother is also exempted from her daily duties.
She is assisted by family and close friends.
Today, however, this is hardly possible due to the busy lives we lead.
Fortunately, we have maternity care in the Netherlands, but new mothers need more than that!
That is why V SPA Amsterdam offers tailor-made maternity treatments.
Like in the Nourishing New Mama plan.
*postpartum treatments are available for you during your maternity period, after a birth loss or after the termination of your pregnancy.
Nurturing maternity treatments
Our experience with ancient traditional wisdoms from around the world allows us to provide the NEW MAMA with warming and nurturing care.
And in fact, this is care that every recovering mother is entitled to.
We welcome you into motherhood through unique maternity treatments.
This includes healing massages and gentle abdominal care.
But also caring rituals, warming tea and delicacies.
That way your energy can come back into balance.
The first sessions we come to your home, where we wrap you and your baby in a warm, loving caring blanket.
Later sessions take place in our practice where the attention revolves completely around you and your healing process. And of course extending your package in the meantime is possible in consultation!

Nourishing New Mama Plan 3 | 5 | 7 treatments
V SPA Amsterdam offers you the Nourishing New Mama Plan.
This is a series of maternity treatments to support you calmly in your motherhood.
We prefer to start at your home 4 to 7 days after the birth of your baby.
Depending on your package, we will then come to your home once or twice in the following weeks. And when you are ready, you are welcome in one of our quiet and warm practice rooms in Amsterdam.
You can schedule your maternity treatment up to 6 months after your delivery!
You can choose 3, 5 or 7 sessions and expand your package in the meantime.
After a caesarean section it is possible to adjust your treatments.
We can also start after a few weeks if you prefer.
Please contact us before your due date for information or reservations!
*In consultation, follow-up treatments can be given at home for an additional cost of €30 each time.

Caring hands for you
Sometimes you stay in an adrenaline rush after giving birth and you can't really sink, relax or sleep well. Your back can suffer from too much feeding because you are still looking for the right posture. Or maybe it is not so easy to get your breastfeeding started, you suffer from engorgement or a (starting) breast infection. Or your perineum could use some loving warmth and recovery after your intense delivery.
Then it is wonderful to be cared for with the soft touch and warmth of one or more healing treatments. We can visit you at your home or in the hospital. We use your bed or a massage table.

Full body maternity massage
Your body and mind have been through a lot during pregnancy and childbirth.
You need time to process this and get used to your baby.
This period is therefore excellent for having a massage.
Sore muscles can relax, your head and body come to rest and you feel that you have energy again.
The maternity massage is aimed at your recovery.
Your abdominal area will receive extensive attention.
The treatment also contributes to optimal breastfeeding.
During a Deluxe maternity massage you will also experience the soothing warmth of healing moxa and a castor oil wrap for your abdomen.
The use of moxa and castor oil helps in regaining your balance and strength.
This will cause the uterus to shrink faster, increase blood circulation and the heat helps you relax.
*these massages are also very suitable if you have experienced a miscarriage, abortion or silent birth.
